My Middle School Math Classroom
Pictures
After teaching in a very run down building for years, the district I teach for built a brand new building for our staff to move into! Coming from an older building where the internet connection was often lost and drywall fell out of the walls to a building with air conditioning, wireless internet, and technology that you wouldn't believe! I feel so lucky to teach here every day. Below are some pictures of my classroom. Enjoy!
NAME
Whole View
cThis is the view of my classroom from the very back wall. The back wall of my classroom is a full whiteboard! All of the desks and chairs are on wheels - this makes moving things around very easy!
Agenda
Every week I post a new agenda for the week. I have a homeroom, 4 7th grade math sections, and 1 section of math exploratory. This helps to keep everyone organized and aware of whats to come!
NAME
Date + Learning Targets
Every day the learning target is posted in this location. Students know to look here at the beginning of every class to see what their I can statement is for the day.
Grades
Every Monday I literally post grades for all of my classes. Grades are posted by ID number so students are embarrassed. Students check this often!
Absent Work
I have one bulletin board in my classroom and it is fully functioning - not for decoration! Any time a student is absent I put the work they missed inside of the hour that I have them in. Students know its their responsibility to check the folder to see what they missed.
NAME
Reading Nook
Every classroom has to have a reading nook! I've slowly built this library over the past few years and recently made those crates for students to sit on. This is a popular spot during homeroom!
Student Center
This is the student center. Anything students might need is located in this section: rulers, whiteboards, bandaids, scissors, lined paper, graph paper, etc.
R
I'm just in love with this R my dad made for my classroom!
